Musician, composer and poet
Karl Seglem
Overwhelmingly extroverted, beautifully energetic, poetic Nordic music.
Norway's foremost goat horn player and tenor saxophonist has an impressive drive to constantly explore the relationship between folk music and jazz - and everything around, everything outside. It is difficult to put a label on Karl Seglem. He has created his own sound universe, his own genre so to speak. And music is for him a vital and personal form of expression. Let's call it world heritage folk jazz, since much of the inspiration for the creation process comes from the diverted Norwegian folk music landscapes, mountains and fjords.

His live concerts present music from a long series of 43 physical album releases by 2025. To mention a few, critically acclaimed Mytevegar, Nunatak, Nordic Balm, Som spor, Ossicles and Nye Nord - New North. Soundscapes where both mountain home, sand dunes, asphalt jungle, undulating forest and life-giving water can be heard.
